Ol’ Man of the Sea Regatta

September 2022

In early September of 2022, I went to a regatta in Fort Worth called the Ol’ Man of the Sea Regatta, and there was a lot of excitement. During the first day of races, we were able to get in 6 races with me finishing in 4 place out of 31 boats with lighter wind present and lots of current on the race course. This was a good position to be in leading up to the second day, because I was only 2 points ahead of the person in position 3. Unfortunately the second day of racing did not go as planned though. With no wind present, the racing was called off for the day and I ended the regatta in 4th place. This was unfortunate because the competition for the podium positions has always been hard to get. This is because of the light wind and the necessity of weighing less. To be in fourth place, and almost securing my spot on the podium was unfortunate. Overall, the regatta was a blast because of the large slip and slide down the front lawn of the club and the good times on the water.
