Meet in the Middle Regatta

July 11 & 12, 2020

The Interclub Youth Racing was a “Meet in the Middle” regatta that means that you meet on the water and there is no on land meeting with the other clubs. This past weekend I participated in this race that included sailors from HYC, LYC and TCYC. We met in the middle of the bay and the races were held in an area south of Red Bluff or El Jardin beach.

I met up with my coaches and team at TCYC. Then we rigged and towed out to the middle of the bay because it was too far of a sail. It was a 30 minute tow and we got to the racing area.

On the first day of racing there was no wind so it was super slow and hot until the last race of the day when it picked up and the were white caps. I was in the middle of the fleet which was pretty good.

On the second day of racing we did the same thing but there where white caps in the morning and it was super shallow so it made it really hard to launch our boats. Then we towed over and it took a little bit longer but we got the the racing area. I got 9th place and the racing was super fast.
